Academic Services
is focused on supporting SAIT’s schools and departments in their pursuit of SAIT’s strategic priorities. Academic Services brings together several academic development, delivery, and quality assurance units with a common goal: student success. Academic Services provides unique, flexible support programing designed to help learners succeed in their chosen SAIT career program.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Academic Chair, Open Studies, you will join a diverse instructional team supporting adult learners across a range of academic disciplines. Open Studies
courses
serve a wide variety of learners, including those completing prerequisites for career programs and exploratory and lifelong learners.
This posting is to build a qualified instructor pool for course sections offered during the 2025-2026 academic year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026)
. Instructors may be considered for opportunities across Fall, Winter, and Spring terms, based on subject-matter expertise, delivery mode experience, and program needs.
You will professionally facilitate the students' learning process and support students in achieving established learning outcomes to the maximum of their potential. You will make use of all available resources, methods, techniques and strategies to ensure student success. You will hold students accountable for Academic Integrity and will bring forward cases of suspected Academic Dishonesty.
Open Studies offers courses in a range of disciplines, including but not limited to:
• English and Communications
• Ethics and Philosophy
• Health Sciences (e.g. Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Pathology)
• Mathematics and Statistics
• Sciences (e.g. Biology, Environmental Science, General Science)
• Social Sciences
• Computer Literacy and Information Technology
• Business Mathematics and Professional Skills
• Hospitality and Tourism
• Student Preparation and Career Readiness
Note:
SAIT, as a post-secondary institution, serves a diverse student population. Therefore, instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader.
